Harry Helps Carley to Cure her morbid Phobia of Dogs
Ask the owner of a guide dog what their dog means to them and you'll be told how it extends their ability to live and be part of the world around them. So how ironic would it be to be blind and have a mortal fear of dogs.
Carley's own words
"A little while back, I contacted Harry Cannon to get some help with my dog phobia.
Harry deals with a variety of symptoms that any one of us could
fall pray to at any time in our lives. His main focus
though is on the adverse affects that Depression, Stress and Anxiety
related symptoms have upon our bodies and minds, causing everything
from the formation of habits, phobias, to full blown nervous
disorders. Here is a typical example of what Harry deals with:
I had been absolutely terrified of dogs since a young age. I couldn't be in the same room as a dog, even a sleeping, caged puppy, and this fear was preventing me from visiting friends, going on holidays, walking down the street and even from interacting fully with my own family (they all had dogs). In fact, the impact this fear was having on my life was even larger than that. I'm blind, and this inability to cope with dogs was preventing me from getting a guide dog. This had all kinds of implications, and was severely limiting my independence and functionality as a person.
I had a look at a few different websites, and contacted Harry Canon, who seemed to have a genuine wish to help. He explained that the therapy might take one session, or, more probably, in order for me to get over this phobia. He described, in detail, everything that we would do together during the course of the session, and I went from being very nervous and anxious, to being calm and relaxed.
I had one session with Harry, and, to my surprise, I found that I was able to be in the same room as a dog. This was such a huge achievement for me! Harry's outstanding treatment continued. He was excellent at reading my moods, when I was comfortable with the situation, he worked intensively with me, giving me self management methods to continue with my development.
The support I received from Harry was outstanding. It was tailored exactly to my needs, and I never once felt pressured or uncomfortable. He has completely changed my life.
I got my guide dog, Molly, a lab retriever cross, a few months ago. Life is great now. I can comfortably go out and about (A journey impossible without a canine companion), and am comfortable with my family and their dogs. Honestly, I can not put into words what a profound and amazing experience this wonderful Hypnotherapist and I journeyed through together.
Thank you Harry! I can now journey around my local area with my dog, and not be scared every time I hear the bark of another. I even now travel on my own to and from Ireland."
